Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, will be scheduled for 60 minutes. Psychotherapy is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help alleviate or manage troubling symptoms, enabling a person to function more effectively and improve their overall well-being and healing. We offer,
-Individual therapy
-Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
-Family therapy
Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness, or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety.
An initial evaluation, consisting of a 60-minute telepsychiatry interview, will be scheduled. A board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner will conduct this interview. At the conclusion of your evaluation, you will be recommended for initial medication treatment, continued medication management, psychotherapy, or both. In many cases, a combined approach involving both medication and psychotherapy produces the best results.
Follow-up appointments are generally shorter in duration, typically 30 minutes, with a focus on making medication adjustments, reviewing potential medication interactions, considering the impact of other medical disorders on the patient’s mental and emotional functioning, and counseling patients regarding changes they can make to facilitate healing and remission of symptoms.
